The College of Liberal Arts of Hubei Normal University was founded in 1973. It currently has over 1700 full-time graduate and undergraduate students. It has 70 in-service teachers, including 16 professors, 26 associate professors, and 34 doctoral degree holders.
The college has one Hubei Province advantageous characteristic discipline group (Chinese Language and Literature and Cultural Communication), one Hubei Province key discipline (Chinese Language and Literature), 2 master's program (Chinese Language and Literature, News and Communication). It has 5 undergraduate majors (Chinese Language and Literature, International Chinese Education, Radio and Television Studies, Network and New Media, Advertising), including 1 national first-class undergraduate major (Chinese Language and Literature) and 2 Hubei Province first-class undergraduate major (Chinese Language and Literature, International Chinese Education).
The college has one Hubei Province Key Research Base (Linguistics Research Center) and two university research platforms (Literature Research Institute and East Hubei Literature and Art Research Center). In recent years, college teachers have led and completed 21 national social science fund projects, 83 provincial and ministerial level projects, published 56 works, and published more than 200 academic papers in core journals. Their scientific research achievements have received 8 provincial awards.
The college has complete teaching facilities and an independent office and teaching building. We have established a reference room, reading room, and online teaching platform, with over 200000 books, audiovisual materials, and over 100 types of newspapers and magazines subscribed annually. There are news studios, recording rooms, photography and video equipment rooms, language laboratories, electronic reading rooms, non editorial laboratories, newspaper editorial laboratories, advertising studios, etc., equipped with advanced non-linear editing network systems and newspaper editing network systems, and equipped with multiple processing equipment such as photography, photography, typesetting, and multimedia.
For the past 50 years, the college has cultivated a large number of high-quality and outstanding talents for society. Graduates are scattered throughout Hubei Province and various parts of the country, and are generally praised by employers.
